Fountainhead School Curriculum
The curriculum of Fountainhead School is designed with expert guidance to develop the social, physical, imaginative, cognitive and emotional potential of children.
The curriculum is developed by Dr. Ranganayaki Srinivas M. A. M. Ed. Ph.D [Ed:ELT] and Meghana Musunuri. Both have international teaching experience in teaching and materials production. [Google Profile of Dr. Ranganayaki Srinivas]
Children learn through the phonics system and whole method learning coupled with story reading. Phonics starts as early as the nursery and children are able to read simple story books by the time they reach PPII class.
English, Maths & EVS are taught through various activities wherein the children apply the concepts they learn in practical day-to-day situations. The concepts are presented in the class through demos, children watch relevant videos in the Multimedia Viewing Centre, then they start on an exploration to see the concept in action in their surroundings. They work in small groups and pairs to work on practical tasks related to the concepts. They play board games, work in the computer lab and library to get a deeper level understanding of the basic concepts.
In this way, a strong foundation is laid which gets them ready to reach great heights as they grow up and move on to higher classes.
Children do not spend all their time in reading and literacy, they have sports classes, dance classes and more. Every month has a theme and a value and these are taken care of through assembly activities, field trips, visits from experts, special weeks, exhibitions and other relevant activities.
Every month one day is marked for 'Show Your Skills' when the children perform on stage and demonstrate their ability in front of an audience.
Every activity is part of the continuous assessment programme and children are graded not only on their performance in weekly tests but also through their participation in all the school activities.

The curriculum of the school helps the children develop their social, physical, cognitive, emotional and creative faculties to the maximum potential.
Social Development: Becoming independent with a realistic concept of self, establishing contact with others and working in teams, developing friendship, love and affection for all levels of performers, helping those who need it and working cooperatively without imposing ones ideas on others.
Physical Development: Being physically fit through a nutritious diet and proper exercise. Participating in sports and physical activities and undergoing training with concentration and discipline.
Cognitive Development: Understanding facts and analyzing them through comparison, contrast, classification, generalizing, integration and evaluation. Developing thinking skills and communicating ones own ideas through the language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Responding to situations and arriving at solutions to problems.
Emotional Development: Learning to understand, analyze and control ones emotions and sharing them in socially appropriate ways. Adapting to changing environments and balancing emotions with reasoning skills.
Creative Development: Using the faculties of imagination and visualization to create unique, beautiful, innovative and imaginative things and sharing it with others to extend and explore the creative faculties.
